Today’s Guest: Carol Schatz

Hello Enthusiasts –

Well, Season 1 of this little vanity project is almost drawing to a close.  We’re on our second to last guest for the season … but how can anyone start a podcast focusing on Downtown Los Angeles without talking to Carol Schatz?

For the few of you who don’t know, as the longtime head of the Central City Association, Carol has as much to do with the creation of a 24/7 Downtown LA as anyone I’ve interviewed – or, beyond that, as much as anyone else.  Earning her well known moniker “the Queen of Downtown”, Carol was, and is, indefatigable, tireless, and unrelenting in realizing the vision of a Downtown where people not only worked, but lived, played, and thrived … the way they are doing today.  (Or, perhaps, did before and will hopefully do again soon…)

But, even if you think you know Carol, her background will surprise you – her college major alone will surprise you.  The way she got the job at CCA will surprise you.  And her stories about how the Downtown we know today came to be will entertain you.  And if you DON’T know Carol … well, just take a listen and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

As always, you can listen right on this website by clicking above, or subscribe on Apple podcasts (always preferred) by following this link.

Also, as we finish up here, if you do listen and like it, PLEASE give it a 5 star review on Apple podcasts.  The dichotomy between the number of you who have said you like it and the number of reviews I have is vast so … do me a solid and help out.  Thanks!
